Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Tuesday arrived in the city of Kherson, which came under the control of Ukrainian troops on November 11. The President of Ukraine announced this in the Telegram channel.
“I held a meeting here today with everyone who is responsible for security. Our military was also present – the Unmanned Systems Forces. We determined what should be given to Kherson to have more protection. Thousands of Russian drone strikes against this city every month, in fact, this is a constant threat. We determined that our Unmanned Systems Forces, “Birds of Magyar” and other units will increase the capabilities here,” he wrote Zelensky.
He also said that on November 14, he will hold a Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on frontline cities.
“On Friday I will hold a special headquarters on frontline cities, and today there is also a decision on energy, on equipment for Kherson, additional funding,” Zelensky said.
According to the president, on Wednesday at the latest these decisions should be made by the government at the level of the relevant ministers.
He noted that 11 institutions in Kherson have underground hospitals.
Former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on November 9 gave the order to withdraw Russian troops from the southern port city of Kherson and take up defense on the left bank of the Dnieper.
According to him, the decision to withdraw troops was made “in order to save the lives of Russian military personnel.” Two days later, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the “transfer” of Russian troops from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnieper River was completed.
