Zhaparov: Kyrgyzstan will continue steps to strengthen security of state border

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov sent the fellow citizens in memory of those who died during armed conflicts on the border in Tajikistan, the press service of the head of state reports on Friday.

Zhaparov noted that each Kyrgyz, with a heavy heart and deep sorrow, perceived the twice tragic events (in April 2021 and in September 2022) on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. “Unfortunately, in these tragic events we suffered irreparable losses, died 99 of our compatriots and 477 citizens received various injuries and are still being treated,” the president said.

The head of state recalled that all the victims of the armed clash of the building were completely restored and commissioned. The houses for families of our compatriots who died during clashes were also built in a timely manner, he said.

Zhaparov emphasized that after the first conflict on the border, Bishkek took urgent measures to strengthen the security of the borders. For the first time in the history of the country, modern military equipment and other necessary equipment for our Armed Forces were purchased at the expense of the republican budget, he said.

“As a result, during the second collision, a worthy rebuff was given, so we managed to avoid large casualties. We will continue to work to strengthen the security of the borders, ensure our military personnel with the necessary equipment and equipment,” the politician said.

The head of state assured that the authorities will do everything possible to prevent a repetition of such events, to ensure the well -being of the people and the integrity of the country.
