Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accepted the president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRSK) Ersin Tatar, the press service of the Azerbaijani leader reports.
The meeting expressed satisfaction with the expansion of relations between the peoples of the Turkic world, based on their historical attachment to each other, and the presence of opportunities to expand cooperation in the humanitarian, cultural, educational and sports spheres.
The President of Azerbaijan noted the role of the organization of Turkic states as an effective platform and expressed the hope that the peoples of the Turkic world will continue to develop relations in various fields. The head of the Azerbaijani state said that Azerbaijan has always contributed to the close rally of the Turkic world and will continue to remain committed to the ideas of the unity of the Turkic world.
The meeting said about the activities of TRK as an observer as part of the organization of the Turkic states. It was emphasized that TRSK has long has the status of an observer in the organization of economic cooperation and the organization of Islamic cooperation.
Ersin Tatars, in turn, congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the full support of the sovereignty of Azerbaijan. He also expressed satisfaction with the events held as part of the Culture of the Northern Cyprus organized in Baku, thanked the President of Azerbaijan for the created conditions.
The meeting discussed the issues of cooperation in the fields of tourism, science, education and exchange of students.
