At the age of 89, the former president of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, academician Eldar Salaev, died.
During his career, E. Salaev served as deputy director for scientific work of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. In 1972, he received the title of laureate of the State Prize of Azerbaijan, in 1975 – the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and then Professor.
E. Salaev headed Nana from 1983 to 1997.
