Germany: We condemn acts of defilement of Qur’an in Denmark

Germany condemns provocations directed against the Holy Koran.

The German government, Christian Hoffman, said that Germany’s position in relation to these “disrespectful and inappropriate” actions is unambiguous.

At a press conference in Berlin, Hoffmann answered the questions of the correspondent of the Anadolu agency (AA) relating to the tomorrow’s meeting (August 17) of the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz with Denmark Mette Fredericksen and provocations against the Holy Quran in Denmark.

Hoffmann to the question of whether the Scholz-Fredericksen will be on the agenda of the meeting of the Koran during provocations in Denmark and what is the attitude to this Chancellor Scholts, who has not yet made a statement about this, replied: “” I can’t say in advance what specific issue will be on the agenda of the meeting, but the attitude of the German government to burn the Koran is clear. We consider this disrespectful and inappropriate. ”

“We oppose such phenomena and condemn these actions,” added Hoffmann.

This was followed by the next question of AA: “In Denmark, they say that the burning of the Qur’an occurs as part of the freedom of opinions. Does the Government of Germany accept these arguments? If in Muslim countries there are cases of desecration of the sacred books of Christians, how will the position of Germany be formed? Will there be a position of Germany? This is perceived as freedom of expression? “

Christian Hoffman answered this question with the following words:

“I cannot comment on what was said in Denmark individually. For us, of course, freedom of speech is a very high value. But at the same time we do not recognize the language and acts of hatred.”
