Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an appeal on the occasion of the days of memory of fallen heroes and the anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Chanaccal.

The Turkish leader emphasized that “the triumphal victory under Chanackale, which became possible thanks to the unshakable faith and determination of heroic soldiers, as well as the greatest victims of the people, also inspired the spirit of resistance, which led to the victory in the war for independence.”
According to him, “thanks to its unprecedented struggle, the Turkish nation became a beacon of hope for all oppressed peoples, inspiring many colonized countries to start their own struggle, drawing inspiration from Chanackale, and then our war for independence”
The president noted that Chanackale “personifies not only the eternal and indestructible unity of the Turkish people, but also reflects the common fate of the region.”
“Celebrating the 109th anniversary of the Victory under Chanackale, I, with mercy and gratitude of the memory of all our heroes, led by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Let their souls rest with the world, and their abode will be paradise,” concluded President Erdogan.
In Turkey on Monday, March 18, the 109th anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Chanackal, one of the largest and bloody battles of the First World War, is celebrated.
