Scandalous meeting of heads of Foreign Ministry of G20 on Bali

The G20 Foreign Ministers failed to reach a consensus and publish a communique following a two-day meeting due to a split between the countries of the East and the West and their representatives.

The Deutsche Welle journalist writes that no revolutionary decisions at a meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 countries were made at Bali. The final declaration was not published. The war of Russia against Ukraine was unequivocally condemned only by the countries of the “big seven”. India, China and other Global South states refrain from criticism to Russia.

The hostess of the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia retino Marcudy, said that the war in Ukraine had a strong influence on the prices and supply of food and energy in the world. According to her, many participants in the meeting agreed that the war should be soon stopped by negotiations.

About Russia, Marsudi did not mention a word. But the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov was able to state his point of view on the war in Ukraine at the G20 meeting. He stated that Russia is engaged in the “liberation of ethnic Russians in Ukraine” and “denazification” of a neighboring state. Lavrov accused the Western allies of Kyiv of putting pressure on Ukraine in order to force it to use the weapons supplied by the West.

According to him, the representation of Russia as an “aggressor” or “occupier” is not true. Lavrov did not listen to the performance of his colleague from Germany Annalena Berbok, who took the floor immediately after him, and defiantly left the hall. When Retno Marcudy demanded to stop the war in Ukraine, Lavrov, according to diplomats, without raising his eyes, read his papers intently.

Lavrov was not present in the hall also during the performance of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who turned sharply to the Russian delegation. He was not present during the connection on the video of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba. While the meeting continued in the Mulia conference-hotel, Lavrov spoke on the street near the building in front of the journalists, saying that the West was not interested in dialogue with Moscow.

Reuters notes that when Sergey Lavrov was photographed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, there were cries “When you stop the war?!” And “why don’t you stop the war?!”

Lavrov left the meeting ahead of schedule at Bali. The heads of Western countries did not take pictures with him.

After the Russian side stopped working at Bali, Annalena Berobok stated the lack of interest in a reasonable dialogue among Moscow: “The fact that the Russian Foreign Minister held most of the negotiations not in the hall, but beyond, emphasizes that with The parties to the Russian government is now not a gram of desire to talk. “
