Zhaparov: SCO – reliable platform for formation of fair world order

Shanghai Cooperation Organization acts as a reliable platform for fruitful cooperation in the interests of forming a fair world order, ensuring the supremacy of international law, primarily the UN Charter.

This was stated by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today met with the heads of delegations participating in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (SGP) of the SCO, held in Bishkek.

The event was attended by the heads of government and delegations of Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, China, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, India, Pakistan, as well as the General Secretary of the SHOS.

“Against the backdrop of the events in the world, the SCO countries need to pay special attention to security issues. I am pleased to note that countries show an example of understanding and cohesion, forming a new appearance of an international organization. In this context, I note the positive role of the regional anti -terrorist structure of the SHOS which provides the necessary assistance to the cooperation of the competent authorities in the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism, ”said Sadyr Zhaparov.

The President stated that in the last two years work has been carried out to expand the organization – evidence of this is the entry of Iran and the upcoming reception of Belarus as a full -fledged SCO member. The geographical expansion of the organization will increase the international weight of the SCO in the world arena.

The head of state indicated that for Kyrgyzstan, cooperation in the SCO is one of the priority areas of foreign policy. Kyrgyzstan, as the SCO founder, strictly follows the principles and provisions of the SCO Charter and cooperates with member states, observers and partners of the SCO in dialogue in all areas determined in the authorized documents of the SHOS.
