Taliban forbade women to receive higher education

The Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan sent a letter to universities demanding to immediately suspend classes for girls, reports Radio Azadi (Afghan Service of Radio Liberty).

According to the publication, the reform of the education system was one of the main goals of the Taliban movement, which came to power after the withdrawal of American troops in 2021. Nadim, who was responsible for this, the clergyman and new Minister of Higher Education of Nida, Nadim immediately promised to eradicate all forms of secular training. Nadim said that the education of women is contrary to Islam and Afghan values.

Namy also appointed Taliban militants to teach at universities, and criticized that it would be disrespectful to force the Taliban and confirm their qualifications, since it depends on the number of bombs they blew up.

Observers interviewed by Azadi Radio, they are afraid that with an increase in the influence of Nadim in Afghanistan, a complete ban on the education of women, which already operated from 1996 to 2001, can be introduced.
