In his letter, the Turkish President noted that the perfect cooperation of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the energy sector, as in all areas, is strategic for our countries and the region. The letter emphasized that the vision of Azerbaijan in the field of renewable energy, formed under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, is significant in terms of stability and prosperity of the region.

Then the Minister of Energy Pyarviz Shakhbazov spoke about the transformation of Karabakh and the Eastern Zangesur into the “Green Energy”.

The first vice president of SOCAR, the temporarily acting President Rovshan Najaf spoke about strategic initiatives in the framework of the “corporate strategy of SOCAR until 2035” in connection with new horizons covering such areas of activity as energy transition, digitalization and innovation. He noted that the memorandum of mutual understanding of the joint development of renewable energy sources, which will be signed between the SOCAR and MASDAR (UAE) as part of the special session of the forum, as well as the cooperation agreement between SOCAR and BP can be considered as one of the key components of this strategy.

BP regional President Gary Jones noted in his speech that the company has been successfully working in the oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan for almost 30 years. He noted that over the years, reliable cooperation with SOCAR has been established. Jones emphasized that the documents that will be signed in Shush will contribute to the development of the potential of the renewable energy of Azerbaijan during the “energy transition”.
