Anthiller-Islamist Osmanov was transferred to Baku investigative insulator

A preparatory meeting was held in the Baku Court of Crime in the case of 45-year-old Akif Osmanov, a member of the Azeri Jamaat group accused of conducting military operations in Syria.

According to the Haqqın.az correspondent, during the procession of Judge Javid Huseynov, these profiles of the accused were clarified.

At the preparatory meeting, it was decided to transfer Osmanov from the state security insulator to the Baku investigative insulator.

The court is scheduled for February 3.

Note that as a result of the investigation of the criminal case it turned out that Osmanov was military training in the camp of the Islamist militants in the Syrian city of Atma. Then he participated in the battles as part of the Azeri Jamaat group. Investigators also found that Osmanov enjoyed a fake Uzbek passport to avoid pursuit by law enforcement officers.

Akif Osmanov was detained during the special operation of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan in May 2022 and was prosecuted. The court put him under arrest.
