On July 27, a campaign for blood was held in the head office of Azercell Telecom, with the organizational support of the public association of Thalassemias of Azerbaijan, a campaign was held in order to help children suffering from Thalassemia, hemophilia, as well as leukemia.
In stock held by representatives of the central bank of blood, a large number of Azercell employees took part. During the procedure, which was conducted using professional medical equipment, all necessary measures were taken to ensure the security of donors and medical personnel. Hematologists took blood from donors after a thorough medical examination. The assembled blood will be sent to children registered in the branch of the central blood bank of the National Center for Hematology and Transfusion and blood transfusion.
The purpose of the action is not only to help children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia and other hereditary blood diseases, but also to attract the attention of the public to this social problem. Since the lack of donor blood caused by a prolonged quarantine regime, as well as the hot summer months, can have a negative impact on hematological patients dependent on blood transfusion.
The action conducted with the general participation of employees of the company is already the second social initiative in this area. Last year, during the first months of introducing a quarantine regime, Azercell Telekom conducted the first share of blood in his office.
