Bayramov told colleague about situation in region

Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, the current chairman of the organization for security and cooperation in Europe (OSCE) by Buyar Osmani, the AR Foreign Ministry said in a statement of the Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, the chairmanship of North Macedonia in the OSCE in 2023, the relationship between Azerbaijan and the OSCE, the current issues of the bilateral agenda between Azerbaijan and the North Macedonia, as well as the situation in the Southern Caucasus region,

were discussed.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister informed a colleague about the current situation in the region, steps taken by Azerbaijan in the direction of the process of normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan, the obstacles that Armenia created for the negotiation process under a peace treaty.

According to Bayramov, the allegations of the “blockade” of Armenian residents and the creation of a “difficult humanitarian situation” in the region as a result of the “closure” of the Lachinsky road are completely unfounded.

The Minister also noted that the Lachin road intended for humanitarian purposes is used for the illegal entry of third countries to Azerbaijan, as well as the transportation of mines.
