Belarusian court sentenced Roman Protasevich to 8 years in prison

The Minsk Regional Court on Wednesday sentenced one of the participants in the country of the Roman Protasevich terrorist organization of NEXTA to 8 years in prison, TASS reports.

At the end of April, turning to the court with the last word, Protasevich asked him to impose a “fair punishment that is not related to deprivation of liberty”, expressing his readiness to do everything possible to compensate the damage that he caused his actions. The state prosecution asked the court to say Protasevich to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General of Belarus reported that the Protasevich, who was under house arrest, fulfilled the terms of the pre -trial cooperation agreement concluded with him.

The Minsk Regional Court on Wednesday also in absentia sentenced the founder of the recognized terrorist organization Nexta Stepan Putilo to 20 years in prison.

The defendants in this case Jan Rudik and Roman Protasevich were sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 19 and 8 years, respectively.
