Museums and architectural monuments of Turkish Cappadocia daily on holidays visited about 50 thousand people, said Governor of the province of Vali Fidan.
According to Fidan, it is expected that by the end of the year Cappadocia will receive more than 5 million local and foreign tourists.
“We are glad to see that in connection with the holiday, our premises are filled by almost 100 percent. If you look at the first three -month data, the number of visitors, which was 441 thousand last year, increased to 531 thousand in the first three months of this years, ”he said.
He noted that Cappadocia is a region that deserves visiting not only its natural beauties, but also its history, architecture, gastronomy and the culture of life.
According to the Culture and Tourism of the province, in the first quarter of 2024, the centers that took the largest number of tourists, in the first quarter of 2024 were a museum under the open air of Gorome, Ruins Zelva with 149,025 visitors and the underground city of Kaymakla with 90,590 visitors.
Over the same period last year, the tourist centers of Cappadocia visited 441,834 local and foreign tourists.
