The head of the Turkish state expressed confidence that Congress will contribute to the further strengthening of the International Union of Democrats and increase its cohesion.
“Against the background of the time when many threats are exacerbated in Europe, from Islamophobia to cultural racism, the main duty of our Union is to the end to protect the rights and interests of European Turks, without departing from the principles of democracy and the law,” said Erdogan.
According to the president, this can only be achieved with the participation of non -governmental organizations in the framework of the law and order, as well as resorting to new media tools.
“We expect you to participate more in the political, social, economic, cultural and scientific life in your countries. Our greatest weapons against assimilation are the training of our children, which are the key to the future, native language, culture and civilizational values. Never forget about it, ”said the president.
At the same time, the head of the Turkish state expressed confidence that the International Union of Democrats without hesitation would continue to take the necessary steps in this direction.
Turkey will continue to be with you in this significant and important struggle, as it was all of these last 20 years, ”said Erdogan.
The Turkish leader also expressed gratitude and respect to all compatriots living outside Turkey, and mainly in European countries.
