Greece Problems are not needed: Athens deported to running Armenian prison

Journalist and writer of Armenian origin Sevan Nichanyan, who escaped in 2017 from an open-type Istanbul prison, was detained in Greece and can be deported from this country. This was reported by the Armenian Embassy in Greece.

Writer’s wife Hera Tsuru wrote on his Facebook page that the country’s government did not extend the residence of Nichanyan, which was granted to him as he was married to Greece Cituit. She noted that the term of residence permit was held on December 29. Tsuru also noted that on January 3 he was deported, but what kind of country, the prosecutor will decide to solve.

In 2014, Nishanyan, whom Armenian media award with various epithets like “outstanding”, “brave”, “talented,” was again sentenced, now by 17 years in prison. Three years after the request of human rights defenders, he was transferred to a jail with a mild mode, from where he soon escaped under unknown circumstances.
