Haftar threatens a new war and “rushes into battle”

The so-called commander of the “Libyan National Army” Califa Haftar threatened a new war in Libya, if a political settlement in the country is not reached and elections will not be held.

“We will again go to battle again to establish the world by force if the agreed political settlement will not be achieved,” the TASS quotes it.

Haftar believes that his army was close to the “liberation of Tripoli”, but the world “rushed to stop the offensive.”

In Libya, under recently, there were two executive authorities – the Government of National Consent (PNS) of Faiz Sarraj in Tripoli and the support of the Libyan National Army and Parliament the Provisional Government in the East of the country. The armed formations of the warring parties since 2014 were tightening the battles, in the spring of 2019, Haftar, the rate of which is located in Benghazi, deployed an offensive to the capital. PNS in response mobilized his supporters, including the most combat-ready Misurat brigades.
