Homeland Saxophones: Historical City of Dinan

Belgian city of Dinan, the birthplace of the inventor of the saxophone and other musical instruments of Adolf Sax, continues to be one of the most popular tourist centers of Belgium thanks to the giant saxophone established here, as well as natural and historical beauties.

The city of Dinan is located in the Franco -speaking Walloon region of Belgium, 100 kilometers from the capital of Brussels.

Danan is one of the most popular tourist centers in Belgium, which attracts attention with its beauty and uniqueness.

Mooz River (Maas), flowing through France, Belgium and the Netherlands, divides the city into two parts. On one bank of the river is the Church of Notre Dame, built in the Gothic architectural style in the 1200s, and the Castle of Dinan, which rises on a rock behind the church and dates from 1051 years.

Right before this natural unity along the river embankment, colorful houses, cafes and restaurants spread out. Boat excursions are often organized along the river.

The coordinator of the tourist agency in Dinan Alexander Barnatus told Anadolu that about 10 thousand tourists visit the city annually.

According to her, Danan stands out among other cities in Belgium due to its natural beauties and architecture. Tourists are attracted to the beauty of the river coast, rocks and castles, she said.

Barnatus noted that another feature of the city are giant saxophones installed in memory of the inventor of Adolf Saksa.
