Iran: during fire in center of treatment of drug addicts, 32 people were killed

As a result of a fire that broke out at the center of treatment of drug addicts in the province of Gilyan in the north of Iran, 32 people were killed.

According to Iranian news agency Irna, a fire in the center for the treatment of drug addicts, which is claimed to be in charge of the private sector in the city of Lengerud, broke out in the morning.

In a fire, 16 people were also injured, four of whom are in serious condition.

Earlier, the administration of the Governor of the Province of Gilyan said that the cause of the fire in the rehabilitation center was the heater, the fire from which was spread to the curtains.

The number of patients exceeded the power of the medical institution, which led to a large number of victims in a fire, the authorities of the region noted.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor of the province of Gilyan Sadyk Niyarek announced the detention of the director of the rehabilitation center, which was found guilty of the incident.
