Italy will send a new batch of weapons to Ukraine

Italy will increase military expenses to € 18 billion this year, while last year this amount was only € 16.8 billion, the La Repubblica newspaper reports with reference to the three -year planning document, which was signed by the Minister of Defense of Italy Lorenzo Guerini.

According to her data, the future sixth generation TemPest fighter is highlighted in the list of expenses. Italy is involved in its development together with Great Britain and Sweden. An additional € 200 million will be allocated for this program, the newspaper notes. In addition, it is planned to create a series of armored vehicles, in this project it is planned to invest € 3.74 billion in thirteen years. The Italian authorities also plan to build two amphibians for landing operations.

Guarini during a meeting of the special parliamentary security committee said that the fourth decree on sending weapons to Kyiv would soon be approved. Lists and weapons are classified, but La Repubblica suggests that Lince, machine guns and ammunition will be sent. Italy put several artillery installations of 155 mm caliber, but Kyiv wants to increase their number, and also asks Rome to send reactive systems of salvo fire (MLRS), the newspaper says.
