Kuwait called on Iran to start negotiations on determining the marine border between the two countries. This was reported by the Kuwaitsky official news agency Kuna with reference to an anonymous source in the country’s Foreign Ministry.
Iran claims to be the Gulf of Persian gas field, the joint development of which Saudi Arabia and Kuwait agreed in March 2022.
A source in the Kuwait Foreign Ministry emphasized that the rights to all resources of the site are completely belonging to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Iran condemned the transaction on the joint development of the field, calling it illegal. Tehran said that it is common to three countries.
Two slave monarchies and previously invited Iran to the dialogue on this issue, but there was no answer from Tehran.
Arash/Durra gas field, located in the Persian Gulf and open in 1967, for many years is the cause of disagreement between Iran and Kuwait.
Iran calls this Arash deposit, and Saudi Arabia and Kuwait – “Ed -Durra”.
