Manukyan has only one topic for conversation with Pashinyan

The opposition Movement to Save the Motherland and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan can reach consensus only on the resignation of the head of the Cabinet, Vazgen Manukyan, the candidate for prime minister from the movement, told reporters.

“We can have a conversation with him only around one topic – his departure. In the current conditions, talking about holding early elections is ridiculous, because by allowing him to hold elections, we legitimize all his shameful defeats,” says Manukyan, who is quoted as saying Sputnik Armenia.

According to him, there are two ways out of the situation: either the authorities will disperse the protesters from Baghramyan Avenue, or the prime minister will resign.

At the same time, Manukyan stressed that over the past 2.5 years, President Armen Sarkissian had many opportunities to influence the events taking place in the country, but he did not take advantage of them. In his opinion, the tension would not have reached a peak if the President had sent the decision on the dismissal of ex-Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan to the Constitutional Court.
