US negotiator in Caucasus is resigned

Senior Advisor to the US Secretary of State for negotiations in the Caucasus, Philip Riker resigned on January 5, Turan.

“… it was expected that he would occupy this position on a short -term basis until the end of last year,” said the official representative of the State Department of the Price, the agency correspondent.

According to Price, Riker’s departure “is in no way undermining” the US commitment to ensuring a safe, stable, democratic, prosperous and peaceful future for the South Caucasus.

Ricker held various positions for more than 30 years, including the US Embassy in the UK. From March 2019 to August 2021 he acted as assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasia.
