On the eve of the next, the seventh in a row over the past 3 years, a written test exam for admission to the bar, held by the Bar Association of Azerbaijan jointly with the State Examination Center.
According to the order of the President of Azerbaijan dated February 22, 2018 “On additional measures to develop the legal profession”, which contained the recommendation of the Bar Association to create conditions for attracting new members, especially young lawyers. During the admission of documents, 280 lawyers expressed their desire to become lawyers.
Candidates aged 22 to 72 represented 45 cities and regions of the country. It is noteworthy that among the candidates there are many who work in state institutions, including in the law enforcement system. 21% of candidates were women, 65% of candidates under the age of 40.
During the three-hour exam, 159 candidates (58%) scored 60 or more points.
The exam, which was held in a transparent manner, was attended by local and foreign observers, as well as representatives of the media.
It is also worth noting that today the number of members is approaching 1900.
