NATO intercepted 11 Russian military aircraft

NATO fighters located on the basis of rotation at the Lithuanian air base Zoknyai, during July, Russian military aircraft accompanied 11 times, Lithuania’s Ministry of Defense reports.

According to the agency, the load on the F-18 Hornet Air Force F-18 Hornet and the Saab JAS 39 Gripen Air Force of the Czech Republic last month was distributed relatively evenly. For each of the weeks, they made from two to four sorties to escort Russian sides. The Czech contingent will stay at the Lithuanian air base for two more months.

Air support procedure is routine. In March and April 2022, this happened 16 times, in May – 20, in June – 17 times.
