New president of Barcelona has become known

Joan Laporta won the Barcelona presidential election. This was reported on the website of the Spanish team.

More than 55 thousand people took part in the voting. According to the results of processing 100 percent of ballots, the winner scored 54.28 percent. His closest rival, Victor Fonta, scored 29.99 percent. In third place was Anthony Freisch. He was supported by 8.58 percent of voters.

The elections were held on Sunday, March 7th. It is noted that the current vote was the second voter turnout, despite the restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

The predecessor of Laporta as president of Barcelona was Josep Bartomeu. The functionary resigned last October. The reason was the vote of no confidence passed to him. Laporta was president of the blue garnet from 2003 to 2010.
