Preparations began for sending a Turkish citizen into space

Turkey begins to prepare for the sending of its citizen to the International Space Station (ISS), the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan according to the results of the government meeting on Monday.

“As part of the National Space Program, Turkey officially begins the process of sending our citizen to the International Space Station,” TASS reports the words of the President of Turkey.

Any citizen younger than 45 years old who wants to become the first Turkish astronaut may apply for participation in the program on uzay.gov.tr. Applications will be accepted until June 23, 2022.
