Residents of Ukrainian Kamenka are trying to return to normal life

Residents of the Ukrainian village of Kamenka, seriously injured due to the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, are trying to return life to the normal direction.

Kamenka was occupied by the Russian military in March 2022 after fierce battles and remained under the control of the Russian Army for about six months.

In April, the Armed Forces of Ukraine established control over the village.

During the fighting, almost all the houses in Kamenka were caused serious damage, infrastructure and roads were destroyed.

Currently, in the settlement, damaged as a result of shelling of the house is restored.

Before the war, the population of Kamenka was almost 1200 people, now about 70 people live here.

The correspondent of Anadolu talked with a resident of Kamenka Vladimir Kornychi, who returned to the village and is now busy restoring his house.

According to him, the shelling of the village from the Russian troops began in March 2022. During attacks, his house was also damaged.

He said that the blows were delivered by aviation, rockets, artillery and tanks.

“My house has turned into ruins, now we are building a new house. The same applies to other houses in the village. The dwellings of my parents, brother and sisters were destroyed to the ground,” the agency’s interlocutor recalls.

The wife of Vladimir Korniychi Lyudmila said that it was very difficult for them to leave their native village.

“We had to leave our whole lives here, it was very difficult. We hoped for a quick return. But if we could not get out of here, we would not have survived. Everyone left with tears in our eyes. We did not know where to go where to go “The woman says.

According to her, for some time they lived with relatives in the Dnieper region. “After our army freed the stack, we returned to the village and started a new life,” said Lyudmila.
