Ankara regrets decision of PACE in Azerbaijan

Ankara regrets the decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) not to approve the powers of the delegation of Azerbaijan.

This is stated in the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Turkey.

The department noted that this step is incompatible with democratic values and contradicts the right to represent.

“It is obvious that this step, meaning the closure of the channels of cooperation and dialogue, will not serve to ensure peace and stability in the region,” the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry called on PACE “As soon as possible to correct this mistake and focus on peaceful efforts in the South Caucasus.”
