Bulgaria accused Russia of violating a gas supply contract

Bulgaria paid for the supply of Russian gas for April, and the termination of supplies will be considered a violation of the contract, said the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Alexander Nikolov.

According to him, Bulgaria adheres to the position of the European Commission, which called on the country not to pay in the Russian currency. “Since all trade and legal obligations are met, it is clear that at the moment natural gas is used more as political and economic weapons in the current war,” Reuters quoted the Minister.

Bulgaria in early April stated that she would continue to pay for Russian gas in euros. The authorities of Poland also refused to pay in rubles. On the eve of Gazprom, he notified Bulgaria that from April 27, he would stop deliveries, as she did not receive payment in rubles.
