Baku: resolution of European Parliament distorts situation with human rights in Azerbaijan

adopted by the European Parliament, a resolution against Azerbaijan is unfounded and frankly distorts the situation with human rights in Azerbaijan.

This was stated by the press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Aihan Gadjizade.

“The adoption of unilateral and biased documents of this kind without adequate assessment has long been a common occurrence for the European parliament,” he said.

Hajizade believes that “this step is nothing more than a clear political order of a number of forces in Europe aimed at deteriorating relations with Azerbaijan.”

“In such an environment, individual members of the European Parliament group, guided by their own internal considerations and personal interests, only promote a distorted picture of the situation in Azerbaijan,” the diplomat emphasized.

The President believes that those who are speaking for the adoption of such documents are also distracting attention from really acute socio-economic and political problems of European society.

According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calls for sanctions against Azerbaijan only complicate relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

“We once again urge the European Parliament to stop interference in the internal affairs and trial of Azerbaijan,” he added.
