The upper house of the Russian parliament approved the law allowing foreigners who have concluded a contract with the RF Armed Forces, Russian citizenship in a simplified manner, Russian media reports.
It is assumed that foreigners who have concluded a similar contract for a period of at least a year will be able to submit applications for admission to Russian citizenship without providing a residence permit. Also, foreigners-contracting will not be able to comply with the condition for citizenship about continuous residence in Russia within five years from the date of receipt of a residence permit.
