Council of Europe turned to Azerbaijan and Armenia

The Council of Europe called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to abandon any further steps that can worsen the situation.

According to foreign media, after the escalation of tension last night to the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, which led to numerous victims and significant damage, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe Simon Carpen and Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Tini Cokes performed with statement.

“The use of military force is absolutely unacceptable in the settlement of disputes between the Member States of the Council of Europe. Therefore, we urge Azerbaijan and Armenia to abandon any further steps that can worsen the situation, observe international agreements and start peace negotiations without further shooting. >

We urge both member states of the Council of Europe to observe the obligation, in particular, to resolve disputes peacefully. The Council of Europe is ready to support them in these efforts, ”the statement said.
