Pakistan will begin imports of Russian oil

Pakistan could cover more than 35% in the total volume of the imported resource at the expense of Russian oil, said the Minister of Energy of Pakistan Musadik Masud Malik.

In negotiations in Pakistan, representatives of the governments of the two countries reached a conceptual agreement on the supply of Russian oil and agreed by the end of March to agree on the issues of logistics, insurance, payment and volumes of supply.

The Russian side is ready to discuss the supply of petroleum products after February 5, when the ceiling of prices for oil products from Russia entered into force entered into force.

Pakistan imports about 70 million barrels of oil per year. In 2021, oil supplies to the country were carried out from Saudi Arabia (50.6%) and the UAE (41.3%). All imported oil supplies go through Fatco terminals in the port of Kasim and Keamari in the port of Karachi. Hence the oil with pipeline transport is supplied at the NPS of Pakistan.
