Pope: women are moving history forward, and this is not a compliment on occasion of holiday

Life moves forward thanks to women. Pope Francis thinks so.

“Today is a feast for women, congratulations. We men are always on a feast,” the pontiff joked.

“Women are stronger than men, but they are still often in a humiliating position,” said the pontiff, pointing out that there is no need to go far for examples. “Women are being sold, enslaved,” TASS quoted Francis as saying.

“Women are moving history forward, and this is not an exaggeration, this is not a compliment on the occasion of the women’s holiday,” said the pontiff.
