He condemned war: in Russia religious leader was recognized as an “foreigner”

The Supreme Lama of Kalmykia Tallo Tulka Rinpoche (Erdny Ombadkov) left his post. On the eve of the Ministry of Justice of Russia recognized him as an “ino -agent”, Russian media reported.

“The people of Kalmykia and all the followers of Buddhism in these difficult times I wish to maintain courage, stamina and commitment to the ideals of compassion, love and non-violence, on which the Buddha’s teachings are based,” Lama said.

Talo Tulka Rinpoche-the Supreme Lama of Kalmykia since the beginning of the 1990s, as well as the official representative of the leader of Tibetan Buddhism of the Dalai Lama XIV in Russia, Mongolia and the CIS. In October 2022, he condemned the invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine. This was the first case of public criticism of war from the religious leader of Russia.

In October, Lama said that he left Russia and lives in Mongolia, where he meets with Kalmyks and other Russian Buddhists who left mobilization.
