In the Turkish metropolis from August 26 to September 1, 2023, the Istanbul open international chess tournament will be held.
The tournament was organized by the Turkish Chess Federation, together with the municipality of the Fatih district, the Department of Sports of Istanbul and the Istanbul Commercial Chamber.
The tournament will be held in the closed sports complex of the Anatolian lyceum with the participation of over 1000 chess players from more than twenty countries.
Chairman of the municipality of the Istanbul district, Fatikh, Ergun Turan, said that interest in the tournament is impressive.
“It was confirmed by chess players from more than 20 countries of the world,” Turan said, expressed hope for the contribution of the tournament to the further popularization of chess in Turkey.
