Armenia is an ally of Russia in the CSTO and a key strategic partner in Transcaucasia, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during a working meeting with the Minister of Defense of Armenia Suren Papikyan “on the fields” of the heads of defense departments of the SHOS and CIS member states.
We are extremely interested in maintaining stability in the region and making maximum efforts for this. We attach particular importance to the development of bilateral cooperation and assisting in improving the potential of the Armed Forces of Armenia, ”said Shoigu.
Shoigu and Papikyan also approved a plan of cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the two countries for 2023.
