Sweden is not going to join NATO

Foreign Minister of the Foreign Affairs Anne Linde, speaking at the meeting of the head of the Ministry of Education of the European Union in Brussels, stated the absence of plans to request membership in NATO, transfers RT.

“Currently we do not have intent to request membership in NATO,” she said.

At the same time, representatives of Sweden and Finland during the meeting with the NATO Gensen intend to discuss that for the two countries it is important in any situation “to have the right to choose their security line.

Previously, the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Sweden and Finland meet NATO standards in most areas and stressed that they can “very quickly” become members of the Alliance, if they turn into such a request.
