The international payment system VISA has been awarded the International Bank of Azerbaijan, one of its main partners in the region, two awards.
One of the awards is related to the fact that the Bank as part of partnership with VISA for the first time in our country provided the possibility of contactless payment of bank cards on railway transport. This project was introduced back in September last year. In the near future, it is planned to introduce a contactless payment method at all railway stations in the direction of Baku-Sumgait.
The second award concerns cooperation in the implementation of payment rings based on NFC technology. The introduction of the first payment rings, which the bank brought to our country began at the beginning of last year. These rings perform many functions of a regular bank card. In most places where the use of Visa maps can be saved and make a payment through these rings. In order to spend the payment process, it is enough to bring the top of the ring closer to the POS terminal. The payment transaction in this case is completed in just 1-2 seconds. New ATMs supporting NFC technology also make it possible to use these rings. Since the ring is waterproof and protected from strong blows and chemicals, it can always be worn on the finger.
