Azal discussed cooperation in civil aviation with Pakistan and Bulgaria

On Monday, March 14, President Azal Jahangir Askerov held a meeting with the Ambassador of Pakistan in Azerbaijan Bilal Hayy and the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Azerbaijan Nikolai Yankov, reports the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines.

According to the report, an exchange of views on the agenda of mutual cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the field of civil aviation was held at a meeting with the Ambassador of Pakistan, promising plans to increase passenger traffic were also discussed. The parties noted that anti-epidemic measures were made to achieve improved situation with COVID-19.

The importance of the resumption of air traffic between countries was noted. This week, Pakistan International Airlines will start flights to Baku from two cities of Pakistan – Karachi and Lahore. The National Airline of Azerbaijan also plans to start flights from Baku to Lahore.

Jahangir Askerov noted that the opening of direct air traffic will serve as an additional incentive for the development of tourism and business relations between the two countries. According to Ambassador Bilal Haii, the fulfillment of regular flights will give a new impetus to the development of political, economic and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

At the meeting of the President Azal Jahangira Askerov with the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Azerbaijan Nikolai Yankov was the exchange of ideas, forecasts, its vision of the current situation in the field of civil aviation and the airlines taken by the airlines of two countries to exit anti-epidemic restrictions. Jahangir Askerov and Nikolay Yankov discussed at the meeting prospects for the resumption of flights between Sofia and Baku.

According to President Azal, all airports in Azerbaijan have the fifth and seventh degree of freedom of airspace. These extent allow all foreign air carriers without any restrictions to carry out flights from Azerbaijan to 40 countries of Europe, North America, Australia and Southeast Asia.

According to Ambassador Nikolai Yankov, further mutually beneficial and close cooperation will serve the development of business and cultural ties between the two countries.
