The head of the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Turkey Ali Erbash condemned the armed attack during prayer in the church of Santa Maria in the Istanbul district of Saryer.
Erbash shared the corresponding publication in social networks.
“I strongly condemn the armed attack during the service in the church of Santa Maria in Saryer, Istanbul,” he wrote.
The head of the department expressed condolences to the family of the deceased during the incident.
