Latvia sends Russian diplomat

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Krosheanis Karinsh, decided to declare one of the Russian diplomats by Persona Non Grata. This is stated in the message on the official website of the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

According to the statement, the diplomat is ordered to leave the country until April 10 inclusive.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia decided to declare one of the diplomats of the Embassy of the Russian Federation by Persona non grata. The Russian diplomat must leave Latvia until the end of April 10,” the text says.

On March 27, Oleg Zykov, temporary attorney in the affairs of the Russian Federation, was called in the Latvian Foreign Ministry, who was expressed in connection with the “unacceptable and provocative public communication conducted by the [Russian] embassy for a long period of time.”

Moscow will respond to the expulsion of the Russian diplomat from Latvia, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova told the Russian media.

The name of the diplomat is not called.
