Pakistan Prime Minister congratulated Erdogan on election

A telephone conversation was held between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistan Prime Minister Shakhbaz Sharif. This was reported by the Office for the Relations of the Administration of the President of Turkey.

During the conversation, Sharif congratulated the head of the Turkish state on success in the first round of the presidential election.

Pakistan Prime Minister wished Erdogan to successfully conduct the second round of the presidential election.

The prime minister expressed the hope that the elections will go for the good of the Turkish people.

In Turkey on May 14, elections of the President and Deputies of the Turkish Parliament of the 28th convocation were held.

Three candidates participated in the presidential election in Turkey – the current head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the leader of the opposition folk -republican party Kemal Kylychdaroglu and the candidate from the Bloc “Alliance of the Ata” Sinan Ogan.

The winner of the Turkish presidential election will be determined in the second round, since not one of the candidates gained more than 50 percent of the vote. The second round of the presidential election will be held on May 28.
