Turkish defense companies continue to develop new weapons with an emphasis on domestic resources.
Among others, a serious step in the field of localization of the production of 25 mm guns used on sea and ground platforms will be taken. The development of these systems is closely engaged in Makine Ve Kimya Endüstrisi Aivers (Mke Aivers).
The developers set themselves the goal of eliminating the dependence of the Turkish Armed Forces on foreign samples of this type of system, and first of all began work on a barrel of 25 mm guns.
The level of import substitution during the production of trunks of 25 mm guns has already reached 100 percent, and the tool itself with the domestic component took place successful tests in the Turkish Navy.
At the moment, the project is at the stage of serial production and in the near future the Turkish Armed Forces will receive the first guns. Along with trunks, MKE is working on the production of only 25 mm guns.
