The United States published a new national defense strategy in which they described Russia as an “sharp threat”, and China as the “main challenge” for Washington. The document is published on the Pentagon website.
“Russia is an acute threat. Even though the main challenge comes from the PRC, recent events emphasize the immediate threat from Russia,” the document says. It is noted that Moscow “is still a serious danger in the main areas,” including nuclear.
“This includes a nuclear threat against the United States, as well as its allies and partners, the threat of high -range cruise missiles, cyber and information operations, threats in outer space, threats of chemical and biological weapons, conducting hostilities under water,” – reported in the text of the strategy
For the United States, Beijing and Moscow are indicated by the main enemies in the near future.
