In the near future, the US Department of Defense announces and demonstrates secret space weapons, reports Lenta.ru with reference to Breaking Defense. The experts responded to the American publication said that in this way the United States will show Russia and China with its new antihospittle development.
Preparation for declassifying was carried out over the past months, however, the situation around the withdrawal of the US military from Afghanistan probably changed the plans. According to Breaking Defense, only high-ranking US government officials have access to information about secret weapons.
Edition writes that the secret system provides the possibility of access to lead to an inoperable condition or destroy the satellite or spacecraft. The United States planned to conduct a real demonstration of this weapon.
Breaking Defense, referring to expert opinions, assumes that the unnamed system can use, for example, a mobile ground laser, a radioelectronic interference director or a microwave gun. Sources of publication doubt that some version of the kinetic interceptor will be a secret weapon.
The publication notes that an active supporter of the development and declassification of the anti-span system, which advocates a means of deterrent to Russia and China, is the Deputy Head of the Joint Committee of the Headquarters of the US Armed Forces General John Heiten.
