US bases in Europe banned Russian energy resources

The US Department of Defense has banned American bases in Europe to acquire Russian energy resources. The corresponding order of the Pentagon posted in the federal registry. The prohibition comes into force on August 30.

The final version of the rules that change the position of the defense budget for 2020 fiscal year, prohibits US military facilities in Europe to conclude contracts for the purchase of energy resources supplied from the Russian Federation, indicated in the document, reports Deutsche Vella.

The decision is aimed at ensuring energy security in Europe. It applies to all types of energy resources, noted the American Ministry of Defense. At the same time, the ban is valid only in Europe, but not Asia. In particular, it does not apply to the Asian part of Turkey.
