What happens in Sudan?

Sudanese military and law enforcement officers began arresting civilian officials after meeting Humduk and General Abdel Fatthaj al-Burkhan – the head of the sovereign council, which was formed as the highest governing body of the country a few months after the overthrow of al-Bashir.

Humduk and his closest adviser are placed under house arrest. Several ministers are detained, leaders of political parties, as well as Governor Hartuma Ayman Nimir and a representative of civil power in the sovereign Council Mohammed Al-Fiki.

In Khartoum, the Internet and mobile communications, stationary phones, according to the Al Arabiya TV channel, do not work either. The army blocked entry into the capital, bridges and central streets, the car movement in the city is completely discontinued. The military took control of the building of the State Radio and Television of Sudan. Hartoum Airport is also blocked. Flights in it, according to Al Arabiya, stopped two days ago.
